The sun was shining on the lands of Dormon. A peaceful vibe permeated the air as the landscape looked serene. Lambast The Mighty strode onto the scene with a evil looking flail in his hand. "A good place to start an empire.", he said. "This will do very nicely!! Conrad, let us go forth and pillage as we have in countless other places." Conrad walked past, grubling as he always did. Suddenly, as they were hatching their devious plan, a shadow darkened the land and when Lambast looked up, he saw a sight that made his blood grow cold.
A flaming boulder soared through the air.
ReplyDeleteLambast watched, flabbergasted as the rock flew over the cliff they were on and struck the village down below.
The very same village they were planning to plunder.
Conrad grinned at Lambast. "Looks like we have to find something new to do,is it not Sir?". Lambast was still in a state of shock, but he still heard these words and detected the mocking tone in which they were said. Steeling himself, so as to preserve his dignity,"It matters not, Conrad. I was merely warming up. We have bigger things in store for us."Saying this, he begins his walk on to Dimswich. A minute later, he detects movement in the grass. Suddenly, he sees a spear flying towards him.
ReplyDeleteLanbart the mighty instinctively ducked. and as he had on many other occasions, his hand reached outward to pull conrad down as well. his fingers closed around conrads belt. and as he went down, conrad was pulled backwards. he tripped and struck his head on a rock. the blood that rushed out was too red for belief. it was everywhere. lambart cud smell it in the air. his hands were already drenched in it..... his chlothes were dyed with his brother's blood... he looked up at the sky as the second arrow shot through the air. and as it did, he screamed " NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!"
ReplyDeleteJust as Lambast was resigned to his fate and preparing to accept his death, a sheild appears from nowhere and he hears a dull thud as the arrow embeds itseld=f in the sheild. A heavily armoured, humungously huge soldier comes into view and after roughly picking him up, asks,"Are you Lambast the Mighty, Duke of Norrland?""Yes, yes I am." he replied. "Hide behind this sheild and follow me!" Lambast hastens to obey and together under the cover of the sheild they jump onto the soldier's horse and ride off. Questions pop like fireworks in Lambast's mind but one look at the soldier's eyes tells him he had better be quiet. Slumping on the horse, Lambast contemplates his next move. When he looks at the horizon, a cave beckons.
ReplyDeleteThey stopped at the entrance to the cavern.
ReplyDelete"Ok" the giant rumbled,as he headed to a cavity in the wall,"Wear this" handing him a leather jacket that seemed to be padded at his shoulders.
Confused and still dazed from his near death experience, Lambast acquiesced.
He was then ushered to a tiny clearing by his saviour, who then walked to a large tree at the edge of the field. He stuck his hand into a large cavity in the trunk, and fiddled with something hidden from view.
A few minutes later, a large screech emanated from the skies.
Without warning, a bird the size of a large tank descended upon him, gripping his shoulders with talons sharp enough to tear through him with ease. His scream was lost in the howl of the air as they lifted off, soaring through the tops of the tallest trees.
"Why does this keep happening to me?", thought Lambast, as he once again resined himself to death. "Psssst....Lamby?"
ReplyDelete"Whose that? Show yourself! I am Lambast the...."
"Quit yapping, boy! This is Lazarius, the bird that's keeping you in the air."
Lambast was dumbfouded. How could a mere bird speak so eloquntly? He somehow replied,"Where are you taking me?"
"To a safe place!! Now shut up and let me concentrate on my flight path!" And so Lambast shut up, dismissed by Lazarius so.
Lazarius, meanwhile was in a quandry, as he had disobyed his master. "What would Belmonte say?" Thinking so he flew into the horizon.

ReplyDeleteAll of a sudden, the mighty bird gave a deep SCREECH like that of knives being vigorously scraped across stone..."STEADY HO!! LAZARIUS!!!" exclaimed Lambast. The bird made loops and somersaults in the dreary atmosphere, which was subsequently filled with the very aura of danger. The sky filled up with dark clouds like herds of elephants...a mighty deluge followed. It was then that Lambast realized...they were in a state of free-fall. "MAYDAY!!!" exclaimed Lazarius. "WE`RE GOIN` STRAIGHT DOWN." The bird`s enormous wings were then gashed by the lightning from the sheer skies. With a spine chilling, blood curdling cry, the wretched bird and his valiant companion found themselves slicing through the dense canopy of strange trees in some forest like they` d never seen before...
ReplyDeleteLazarius crashes through the trees ann ands on his right wing, knocking Lambast off his back and straight into a heap of dung. While Lambst quickly gets up and begins to wope the muck off his face,a strange blue light emenates from behind the foliage. Lambast cautiously moves forward, not daring to believe his eyes. Before him is a swirling blue portal, 5 feet high and wide enough for a man to fit through. Suddenly the portal shines blood red and a boy of 15 walks through it. His appearance startles Lambast. He seems to wear breeches of some blue material an a flimy shirt with certain words on them. Just as the warrior turns to leave, the boy sees him. Fearing another attack, Lambast runs back to where Lazarius lies prone. Looking for something to defend himself, he finds himself before the boy empty handed."So, you're here to kill me, are you? Well child, I've seen much worse than you so take your best shot." The boy looked puzzled and replied,"What the hell are you sayin? I ain't here to kill you. I'm just here to give you this." Saying so, he hands him a force field generator. "This thing is supposed to protect you from every attack and anyone who's in contact with you will share its power. Use it well,'cause there's gonna be a lot of peple trying to kil you from now on. Here, now its set and you're protected. Don't worry, no one except you can see it or work it. Well, got to be going. Try not to die!"Saying so, the boy runs back into the portal and the portal vanishes in a flash of light. Lambast stood where he was, trying to understand what just happened.

ReplyDeleteLambast then realized...he wasn`t supposed to be where he was at present. He was lost...lost in an unknown, charmed, yet perilous wood. He was a babe in the woods...lost in the mighty labyrinth of a forest, which appeared the same from all eight directions (or more if you wish, reader). The entire wood was enveloped in a thick, dense mist where one couldn’t see much beyond a maximum of a few hundred yards. The mighty bird lay there...all was silence, but for his pitiful moans, which also ceased to be heard. He lay in a deep Ravine, so severely wounded and spilling blood that he appeared like a ruby in a case of frosted glass (I meant in contrast to the fog, reader). Lambast yelled, "LAZARIUS??!!" But the deathliest of silences prevailed...an ominous silence. The stench of the gigantic bird` s festering wounds hung loose in the moist, chilly December air. This troubled Lambast. He instantly sensed the poor bird` s presence. He looked down the ravine, about 20 fee deep. "LAZARIUS! Awake now!! We shouldn’t` t be here...I can sense an unearthly presence here....I SAID GET UP!!" Hearing no response, he made a sheer, desperate attempt to make his way into the ravine with a tree-branch. He glanced at the poor creature and thought, ‘He` s in a sorry state...I` ll HAVE to find help..' Climbing out of the ravine, he bolted away into the white, (apparently not knowing where since he was lost...) spreading out the black gunpowder which he`d carried along for weaponry on his path so he could find his way back to his acquaintance. ..
